Went to the Luigi Viprati event today at Smokers' Haven. I guess he and his two business associates are making their rounds as they work their way to Chicago. There were a ton of pipes on display in all price ranges. Some of the details were slightly lacking on the lower end pieces, like a tiny gap between the stem and briar but over all it was good work. I guess he really cranks out the pipes. Premal picked up a bunch for his shop including this HUGE pot shape with a stunning ring blast. I could not fit my thumb into the bottom of the bowl.
I picked up two, a sandblasted billiard and a two clover bulldog. The bottom picture is Luigi and myself. He did not speak much English so everything was translated through his business partners. He even autographed one of the pipe bags at the suggestion of one of his partners.
