Hey there,
I stumbled upon this pipe on the internet and I was wondering if anyone had any info on it.

No markings anywhere but the seller insists it is French made yet I believe it has a Danish look to it

No stamping suggests some sort of second, early work by an artisan, or repaired or renovated pipe. The pipe itself doesn't speak to me of French manufacture, nor so much Danish either. Interesting shape. Material of shank embellishment, is it identifiable?

The current owner doesn't have any background on it and can't identify the material.
I think I'll make an offer, see for myself and come back to you

Update on this pipe.

I received it two days ago and it smokes like a champ. Turns out it is a filtered pipe.
I also found its origin

This is a Butz Choquin Pirat. It is not exactly the same but considering the lack of any markings, it is either some kind of prototype or a reject deemed unworthy of the name. Either way, I'm really happy with it.

The original owner was a sales representant and he received a small collection of pipes as a retirement gift, including this one so I think it might be BC-made.

Considering the 50 euros I spent for it, I'm happy either way
