Ever since I decided I wanted to find a close second to Penzance, I have been trying more and more flake tobaccos and I have decided I really like them. I am looking for some flakes that have Virgina, Turkish and/or Oriental, and Latakia in them, but I am open to any really. I have not really gotten into Virgina and Perique combos but I am willing to get them to try and put in the cellar (I would hate to be caught without any). I know I am going to place an order for some Stokkebye's Luxury Twist flake, Stokkebye's Luxury Navy Flake, and some Hearth and Home Ten to Midnight and I am looking to add to that list and order within the next two days! Thanks for the help guys!

What Cortez said.
Flakes are interesting, I'll give them that. There's a certain something about the process of rubbing them out. It adds another step of enjoyment of the tobacco, I think.

I have to say I'm surprised that no one ever mentions McClellands Tudor Castle, a damn tasty VaPer with a dose of Yendje in the mix for fun - I haven't had a chance to smoke any of it aged yet (three tins in the cellar - all 2010 datestamp), but it is some tasty broken flake young - just gotta get past the ketchup aroma on the tin.

Sam Gawith Balkan Flake gets a nod from me, as does his Best Brown Flake. I am also fond of Dunhill Flake, and Benjamin Hartwell Signature. I have many tins of the last 3 in the cellar.

Robert McConnell , Scottish Flake . It is red Virginia slices and mighty tasty . A little time in a mason jar or left in the tin will bring out the full flavor of the blend .

I'm just starting to get serious about flakes as well, so this is a great thread!
Bubba, PS's Luxury Twist is wonderful. Though I haven't had it in a while, but it was my first REAL tobacco for a long time. And H&H's Ten to Midnight is one of my current favorites. I love the look of it, though it doesn't rub out out into ribbons real well... more of crumbs and cube cuts.
