Normally I would pass on a pipe that someone has hacked up but I actually liked what they were going for with the stem. An inch or more had been cut off the stem and was crudely reshaped. The profile of this stubby bulldog grabbed my attention so I grabbed it from ebay. I put a quick cleanup on it. The stem isn't perfect but it will make a good workhorse.

I have about 15 or 20 Sterncrest's and they all smoke great. I expect this one will be too. I haven't fired it up yet.

Nice work and a great looking pipe.

All my LHS pipes have screw on stems and stinger configurations.

I've got a 'superfine' #45 that would look and serve well with a stem job like that. Hmmn....

Your work is always so enjoyable to see and it inspires me to at least somewhat better maintenance, if not better

conditioning of my estate pipes.

WOW! That's a Beauty Dave. If it smokes half as good as it looks it'll do fine. Great job as always. You the man!
