I'm wondering what temperature that is reaching to evaporate rust.

This is 1650 f, I regularly cook pipe at 1150 f and while the area under the heater/pad may have an ash like coating the surrounding material is as rusty as ever. I've cooked larger objects, valves, joints, vessels and large pipe and always have rust left on the surface. Very interesting nonetheless.
