I'll be back in the UK next month and I'm putting together a TAD list and what missing are lakeland blends. So suggestions please for that must have lakeland blend, I quite fancy 2 or 3 with varying strengths of essence. Thanks

GH&Co.
Best Brown #2 - little to no essence, VA/Burley

Bright CR Flake - little to no essence, straight VA

Rum Flake - sweet but not in the US aromatic way, little essence

Bob's Chocolate Flake - sweeter than the above, little/medium essence

Louisiana Perique Flake - great VAPER with slight/medium amount of essnece

Ennerdale Flake - full throttle essence

I'll second GH&Co as the best for Lakeland. I'm also fond of Gawith's Lakeland Dark.
Kendal Flake and Ennerdale are my favs.

Peterson's Hyde Park -- a nice gentle Lakeland scented blend, to ease into the genre.

+1 on Grousemoor. I also enjoy Kendal Cream flake, 1792, best brown - all great

Lakelands - just dedicate a pipe for them as they ghost like a "@$!!?*^%##+^!?

I was going to pick up a cob, that way if me and lakelands can't get on I can just bin the cob.
Thanks for the suggestions fellas.

A cob is a great idea drennan, I have several cobs I use for Lakeland blends and come to find out they do

an outstanding job with them.

All the blends mentioned are much less expensive online than in th UK with its high tobacco taxes. I would purchase blends which are difficult to find except in the UK. In fact, I would just get as many pounds of Condor as you can smuggle back. If you can get up to Ireland, be sure to grab some Condor Plug.

Grasmere is a nice mild Lakeland Va flake with a bit of rose scent. It's not nearly as scented as Ennerdale and it doesn't have the strange musk scents of other Lakelands like Kendal Flake or Coniston Cut Plug. Grasmere -- mild, sweet VA, lightly scented with rose essence.

I'm enjoying some GH brown flake scented right now! Doesn't seem to be a lot of love for this blend, but I seem to like it and its strong lakeland flavors. Might not be the best starter, but it will give you the full lakeland experience for sure. And yes, as a necessity, I have a few pipes dedicated to lakeland blends. Love the stuff from time to time!

I'm looking forward to trying some Lakeland essence tobaccos. I really haven't found a category of pipe tobacco that I don't like yet except maybe Captain Bob (but what the heck category would that be?!)
