Just popped that tin of 4 1/2 year-old Klondike Gold Virginia flake I got from Ashdigger. Never had it before and it is wonderful stuff. Slightly sweet and earthy with a deep, rich flavor. Liked it better than FVF and Best Brown flake. Reminded me of why I tend to like flake cuts better as they provide for a deeper, more intense flavor than ribbon cut. Anybody know of any bulk alternatives to it of a similar nature?

I love Klondike Gold, good stuff, I only have one tin left and I'm saving it for a special occasion. I sometimes feel that Mac Baren's Pure Virginia Flake is similar, not a dead ringer by any means but there are some noticeable similarities. No bulk alternatives that I know of.
I loved Klondike Gold... You might try some of John Aylesbury Virginia flakes, such as Sir John's Flake (Virginia) and JA's Luxury Flake.
