I've noticed in a few recent listing on eBay some of the older Karl Erik pipes with a grade of O. Pipedia mentions that grading on his older pipes was ascending from 4 to 1. I'm assuming that this information is incomplete and a grade of O is the highest grade. Does anyone have any definitive insight?
Thanks

Mau1, I have not seen a Karl Erik with a “0”. Could it be a badly stamped “C” pipe from the later grading system? I own an “A” stamped pipe that also has “Straight Grain” in cursive stamped on the side of the shank, this is another anomaly that I have not seen again. I’m always on the lookout for his pipes and enjoy his more conservative designs.
I can not wait for the site updates in hopes that it will be easier for me to post pictures.

I have a Karl Erik. The stamp says Karl Erik ROM 00. It was very reasonably priced, so I've just assumed that it is not a high grade. Wonderful straight billiard though.
