Well, PAD was a done deal with last week's buys right? Nope, I was cruising P&C for a future tobacco purchase when I went over to see their estate pipes. Nice collection of unsmoked family-era Sasieni pipes, nice Savs and then I saw it...they had a Carmignani. "Bullsh*t" said I. So I looked and yessiree, it was one of Fritz Becker's early pipes and it looked to be in great condition. Trigger was pulled and now I have to wait. I guess the saving-up for another Alden will be put off for a bit. Not sure if the stem's a replacement as I can't see the stem logo but it looks pretty well cut so I won't complain.
