Between life and work, it's been tough to get a lot of shop time lately...I was pretty pleased with this one- a nice little billiard with a really interesting piece of buddha bamboo...

Nice chunk of briar and the piece of bamboo looks rather sensual. Congratulations on your latest creation!

The bamboo usually turns me right off, but this looks great!

Very well crafted and like how the bamboo looks on this pipe. I'm not a bamboo pipe guy, but the one you made is the nicest looking design I've seen!! Zack, I know what you will be doing when you retire. Enjoy for many years.

I'm the same way. I'm not a fan of bamboo shanked pipes at all. But every once in a while one shows up that I really like. Well done, Zack!

That's pretty ! The length of the bamboo is perfect to my eye. Another knuckle would have been to much.

The stem notch matching the notch in the bamboo is an elegant touch.

So is Buddha bamboo officially a term? Is it just bamboo that is fatter or is it a particular type?

Couldn't tell you the exact classification, but bamboo for pipe making is either called bamboo, black bamboo, or Buddha bamboo. 3 very distinct varieties...

Thanks, zack24. I knew of bamboo and black, this is my first time seeing Buddha. I appreciate the information.

That's usually why I don't like them, I think. The bamboo is used to freely, but not in this pipe. Perfect amount.

That is smooth! Nice blast, and as others said, I'm usually not a fan of cane on pipes, but the way you did it here is phenomenal.

Superb workmanship! I like especially the finish on the blast.

I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Another great pipe. I agree that the bamboo gives it a sensual vibe.
