Partly sunny and 94f here in NW Alabama. The humidity is down so it's not all that bad. It's supposed to get worse towards the end of the week.

50s and 60s, with heavy cloud cover and spattering rain. Portland sunshine, baby!

I'll elaborate on Collin's post. Being in coastal British Columbia, I would like to lodge an official complaint with the Weather Office. Cool, grey and raining. Had a get-together with friends and we didn't even bother to plan a BBQ. After dinner there was talk of setting up a fire pit, but while we discussed it... it started raining again. It's looking like the summer that wasn't, here.

Can I come visit all y'all in warmer places?

It so hot, Campbells Soup changed their labels . The directions for Texas just say "Pour and Eat".
We've got to leave the faucets dripping to keep the pipes from boiling.
I saw a squirrel picking up acorns with a pot holder.
Its so dry, the rattlesnakes are carrying canteens.

We've been over 100 every day for weeks now in North Texas.
Currently 100 degrees 35% humidity, no chance of rain. The same, but hotter, for the next 10 days.

Sometime this evening, likely around midnight or so, the temp will drop to around
85 deg F. This afternoon, while on the way from my truck to the B&M I choose to frequent with the other codgers and layabouts, I saw a fly land on the hood of a black car. As soon as he touched down, he died from the heat..., likely somewhere around 150 deg F or so.
I don't get it... Why do so many people drive around in black cars in Dallas...?

we had a cool front move through today (south central texas)--only got up to 96*--it is now 92* at 8:48CDT--humid, muggy and absolutely no breeze--all crops dead in the field--wonder what a box of breakfast cereal will cost soon?

75 degrees and 78% humidity here in Orlando...nice enough to open the windows and sunroof on the car. 90s during the day though...oh and we have a little tropical storm out to the east about 100 miles or so...but moving away...

The thermometer in the Durango (black with gray leather, thankyouverymuch) reached 101 last week. It was around 96 or 97 today but it's been raining on and off for about 3 days. We call these things "pop up thunderstorms" but it's really just the atmosphere crying in pain. It's still too hot to wear pants so today I wore a dress but swamp ass in a dress against hot leather seats is just not a good thing.

Actually the worst car I had in the heat was a burgundy red '77 Nova with red leather seats. (Well, they were red at one point - over our ownership they were once white, then red, then black.) That thing would toast you in a heartbeat.

Here in Vegas it's 94 at 8:19 A.M. . I saw the news article about the Mid-West being under a "heat wave". With the heat index of around 115. Don't really feel too sorry for them though, because in Vegas in August it can hit 120 without a heat index.

Yes! Ridiculous amounts of rain this summer, its brutal. We've only had what...8 dry days above 20c since May? The wife and I are off to Prince George tomorrow, I'm looking forward to drying out for a few days.

I did see the thermometer in the wifes car hit 46c (115f) a couple of weeks back, but thats black leather convertable, parked in the sun (she's a little insane at times...).
My worst car was my '72 Cutlass; grey body, black vinyl hardtop and interior. Leather sucks in the heat, but vinyl is pure hell...

cyndi, try dropping your little tukus on black leather seats when the temp is 105 and the sun has ben shining on em....

you don't have to worry about swamp ass, (or monkey butt as bikers call it) you have to worry about steam burns....

maduroman - I've done it before. The only thing worse is the 2nd degree burns you get from touching the metal on the seat belt. The Durango is nice - it's a good shape to keep the interior shielded from the heat and most of the windows are limousine tinted. Bootleg's Honda, though, that thing can get a mite uncomfortable!

About 30 miles north of Seattle, WA. Every month this year has been very near to breaking records for cool temps and plenty of precipitation.

    Warmest day this year...today @ 78F!

They are forecasting that we'll drop down to 70F tomorrow, and down to 62F on Tuesday.
