Just nabbed this JT Cooke as it's a very nice shape one does not see.

That collection has been growing steadily lately. As usual, your taste in pipes is exceptional. Congrats on another great score.

Very cool. Definitely an early one as it has the husband and wife stamp ("J.T. & D."). Once you have it in hand, I'd be curious whether you think it has any hand rustication involved or just sand blast. Great piece of pipe-making history there.

Gorgeous pipe, fish
Most of his later work that I see are always straight - I never see a bent
Enjoy that one and I hope she smokes well for you

allan,

I nabbed it because of the shape and the rustication the other Cooke I have is equally odd in shape and it's a smooth finish which he only does with briar he feels should not be rusticated.

Man, I'd pay just to have a long look at your collection. The items and pipes you've posted since I've been here have all been phenomenal. I saw a smooth in that shape the other day in an antique store here. They were asking $125, and it had already been sterilized. Had a long stem, almost church warden length.
Great score!
