Been my favorite pipe as of late and just noticed this crack..should i be worried?

Sadly i think yes .Under a probably fill ther's surely a deep cavern.A briar defect not identifiable during sanding or sandblasting or rusticating.Briar in that point is fragile and that could happen in every moment.Maybe will not break soon because of the position of the crack but guess one day will do

Like Bobs says.be careful with that pipe. Where that crack is makes it very easy to snap the bowl right off.When removing the stem hold it by the shank not the bowl.

Bummer..not what i was hoping to hear :( i guess i will have to retire it as a "once in a while" smoke.

Just be carefull and i believe you'll be fine, i have a few pipes with cracks, and they 'smoke' well, i am just careful
