I haven't tried it but I'm very eager to find out about it, too. It's a definite for my next order based upon what I've read so far.

This blend is well represented in my cellar. It doesn't get

a lot of attention, which is something I've not understood for years.

It's a distinctive Virginia/Perique that smokes well and ages even better.

It's a bit pricey, but worth the coin and certainly worth your time to investigate.

Here's the review on tobaccoreviews.com. I haven't tried it but it sounds close to Butera's Kingfisher- a unique VaPer blend.

I cannot say that Dorisco Mixture (Virginia, Perique) in

any way smokes like Butera's Kingfisher(Virginia,Burley & Perique). While we're on the topic of James J Fox blends, The Bankers Mixture and Provost are also worth your attention. Campanile is an acquired taste, while Hibernia is almost an Aromatic. The Squire's Mixture is a blend that I've not found has a following. The single quality of how the Virginia components are blended are what make these blends

favorites of mine. The Bankers Mixture is one of the finest Cigar leaf blends

produced, being smooth and creamy in the smoke.

Fred, can you personally notice the latakia much? There seems to be some consensus on tobaccoreviews.com that its there but well integrated into the blend.
Also, how would you describe its strength of nicotine and flavour? Just wondering how closely your opinion cuts to the average determined by the site users.

Oh, sorry... I was referring to Dorisco.
A lot of people comment about a noticeable amount of Latakia. Have you sensed this or do you think that that's off base?

Dorisco Mixture has a small amount of Cyprian Latakia in it,

despite the blend description. In the old sense of the term, it's

a light English mixture. I enjoy both Cyprian and Syrian Latakia blends.

To me, the main player in this blend are the Virginias. I suspect that

those who really don't like Latakia would speak to this issue, but to

me it is a minor player in this blend. It's full flavored and light to

medium in strength. As far as how my opinion coincides with the reviews,

you can draw your own conclusions. To really understand this blend, you

need to smoke it.

As soon as I receive my order that's currently in transit, I'm going to order Dorisco among others - I'll let you know what I think. Thanks for your input, Fred - its helped a lot.
