Well friends, I noticed on my last post ,I was at 499 posts.I have never read so much cool and interesting things as I have on this site.I hear others talking about other forums, but I really don't understand why we would venture anywhere else.I happened across this site, and it was a great move on my behalf. If anyone would have told me a year ago, that I would be an acting member in a pipe group,I would have laughed at them.I've never typed so much in my life I'm not well educated,I did't go to college,I've always made a living with my hands, and what little schooling I had. There are people from all different creeds, and races, and statures on this site.Everyone gets along just as we should off of here in the real world. To sum it up, thank you all for your wisdom and teaching, conversation and friendship. The pleasure is ours, Rod. You're a fine addition to the site and the lifestyle.

I agree, fullbent. Here in New Zealand, where pipe smoking is all but extict, it's been inspiring for me to join a forum with so many fine gentlemen and ladies. I too only happened upon this site, and now it's my bookmark! It's, I suppose, for me not unlike the feeling you get when you come home after a day at work - Homely in the company of friends.

It's hard to find other pipe smokers these days to talk with, compare pipe and tobacco notes with and trade pipes tobacco and accessories with. I do so miss the days when there were lots of B&Ms around and you could do this face to face. But, alas, things are how they are and I am very grateful for this site.

    Cheers all.

As ohin3 said, there are so few of us around to talk to anymore, and there are so few who venture out these days. It's good to see so many people with a common interest sharing so much knowledge. World wide web indeed.
