It seems to be very old, is it still good to smoke (it is unopened and i can not see hole in the box, it is in good conditions ) ?

Is it a good tabac ?

Can you give me some informations about it, please ?

Photos are made with a smartphone, i can take more photos with a reflex cam if you want to see more details.
Thank you, Sebastien.
Ps : sorry for my bad english, it isn't my native language.

I have no idea if that is for rolling cigarettes or pipe tobacco, but I like getting to see old stuff like that. :)

Hello Sebastian, and welcome to the forum. And wow! Do you have a fine tobacco there. You're new to pipe smoking, so you probably don't realize that there are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of pipe smokers out there that would burglarize your home to get at that tobacco. It's a rare and wonderful find. If the seal is unbroken, I'm sure the tobacco will be fine. Excellent. Heavenly. Enjoy it with a friend. Heck, enjoy it with me!

That is a very well loved brand and type of pipe tobacco.
Chances are very good that it is in fine condition, but there is a possibility that it might be no good.
Bear in mind that these old cutter-top tins usually fetch a good bit of money,

and they are highly sought after by collectors.
You have #1&2 blend, which is very popular.
There is a similar tin up on auction right now, but it's #1 which was mild and does not appeal as much,

this tin seems to be under the radar, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for $80+ in the end,

only one hour left:

Thanks for sharing the story and the photos,

and welcome to the forums!

Probably 1940's or 1950's.
And yes, it is a treasure!

:)
Are there any pipes?
Or other tabac?
Where are you located?

So old !

Thank you !

No there was no other stuff related to pipe or tabac,

i don't know perhaps my grandfather have sold or given its pipes.
As i said i am not a pipe smoker, so i don't think i'm going to taste this,

i think i can not appreciate its fair value in case if it is still good !

I will look for someone who can really appreciate it.

And i am located in France.
Thank you for all the informations, very nice forum !

Someone will be very happy I think.
Maybe you could find a nice pipesmoker in France who would love it,

I would at least consider selling it to a collector and using the proceeds to buy a quality pipe. Unless

you have a special desire to be the one who smokes this fine old tin. It probably will be delightful.

Sebastian, I think it's great that your first thought was to find a pipe smoker who would really appreciate it, rather than simply to sell it on EBay. You give me hope for humanity. Thank you.
