If asked Why do you smoke a pipe? In one sentence, what would your answer be?
Now this could be difficult, it could be asked nicely or sarcastically by a non smoking anti!
My nice reply would be: Because it relaxes me and brings peace and tranquility into my otherwise chaotic life.
My sarcastic reply would be: It relaxes me and lowers my blood pressure, which helps me refrain from beating the hell out of anti smokers that ask stupid questions, NOW GIT!!!
In one sentence how would you reply?

Nice answer; Because I enjoy it, I use to smoke cigars, but they are quite expensive, besides the company of great men like J.R.R. Tolken to Winston Churchill (long list etc...etc......).

My answer: With such great variety, from tobacco to the pipes themselves, it's a hobbie where the excitement of trying something new can merge with the calm that settles in when you have nothing else to do but puff away and enjoy life.

In one sentence?? It's the only time of day where I get to relax and reflect how I should have done things differently in my life and how I will handle future situations as they arise, I enjoy the flavor and like to watch the smoke drift from the bowl, I enjoy the warm feeling of the bowl as I hold it in my hand, it calms me into a state of deep contemplation where everything seems more clearer, and I just like it.

It helps me concentrate when I smoke while working. It helps me to relax when I smoke while hanging out. I enjoy collecting "vintage tins" and I enjoy the craftsmanship in the pipes, the woodwork, etc. I enjoy the somewhat historical feeling, the multitude of blends - it just comes down to: I enjoy pipes and smoking them.
I've also enjoyed reading about why other people enjoy pipes!

Because it allows me to participate in the gentlemanly art shared by history's greatest thinkers, poets, philosophers, artists and statesmen, while appreciating both the artistry of the tobacco blender and the craftsmanship of the pipemaker and the fellowship of great men and women who appreciate the bounty of life's greatness!

Honest answer:
I enjoy the finer things in life; while I can eat at McDonalds, I would prefer a steak. While I could drink rot-gut, I prefer a fine single-malt. By extension, while I could smoke cigarettes, I would rather partake in one of the many artesianal pipe-tobacco blends available, for you see, tobacco blending is akin to the making of fine wines, with only the blenders imagination providing the limit.Sarcastic answer:

After considering your suggestion carefully, I have come to the conclusion that the BAHHH! Humbug! may have too much of a holiday connotation to the people I am Pahing. They may get confused. I have just spent the last half hour listening to George C. in that scene and am replacing the "B" with a "P" and leaving out the Humbug. Spent quite a bit of time in front of the mirror practicing. I am now going to the Promenade in Santa Monica with 3 pipes, all loaded and will spend several hours Pahing people. I will let you know the results of my research: People of Santa Monica - BE WARNED!!!
