The goalie is a lonely position. At least he was being pummeled by a relatively soft rubber ball and not a hockey puck. I can sympathize with the poor lad. I was really impressed with the save as he lay on the ground, back to the kicker. It's a glutton for punishment, he is.
Typical goalie, big heart . . . tiny brain.

LOL ... exactly! I was thinking of Shel Silverstein's The Winner
Here's an excerpt:

Silverstein was a creative fellow. I can remember a story he wrote that I read as a teen about a frenole, a Friar, a maiden and a pond. I was about 12 or 13?....it appeared in a Playboy mag I'd managed to get my hands on.
