As I commented in the article, I like the vid, but won't smoke any ropes since they're "strong" blends and probably not what I go for. Thanks for the info though!

Great video! I get to play hookie from work today. I'm going pack a bowl with a few slices of Black Bogie, look out the window as the snow falls and enjoy a day off.

Thanks for another great video Bob.

I laughed in the beginning when you said "you may be intimidated". Yeah! Because it looks like poop!

    Sorry. I couldn't help myself.

I also added links to a couple of rope tobaccos that look pretty interesting. I am wondering if these two in particular are very strong, or they might have less strength based on their names?

"Sweet Whiskey" and "Black Cherry Twist" do not connote strong to me. I sent Ted an email to see if he knows.

I have 2 Gawith ropes (black and brown). I forgot about them so when I opened the tins they have "unraveled" into sheets. I'm going to try to re-hydrate them and see if they're smokable. I guess there's not reason they wouldn't be but as a caution to those who do buy them make sure you keep them as fresh as possible so this does not happen to you.

Bob's article is great, but what I do is toss the whole rope into a blender with some Mozzarella and italian spices and its like smoking a pizza....mmmmmmm good!

Please check the article again. Look under the video, after Bob's last paragraph, look for "Editor's Note".

I could be you didn't see it because of caching on the server. I just cleared the cache.

For some reason that's less than obvious right now, I seem to recall that
the term "rope" is slang for a stinky cigar.

Some people may say that some of the stronger ropes smell like it too .

After you rehydrate it, it will be smokeable again. However, if they are unraveled, then you will have to cut up the leaf because they are no longer ropes. I don't think that you can fix that part, unless you know how to make rope tobaccos .

I have never heard that term associated with cigars, but I am familiar with the term 'Dog Rocket'.
