Some Dunny folks don't like Shells, but you sure beat the Dunhill price racket, handsomely. I hope it is a perfect pipe for your purposes. Ebay is a casino, but you hit the win.

Some days your the windshield and some days your the bug, I never have a problem with poorly written eBay items, some of the best bamboo fly rods, fly reels and pipes have come from poorly written auctions. I do take the time to ask a few questions and generally it’s an uninformed person and you can usually get the gut feeling of if you will pursue the item or not, I’m happy for you that you pursued that Dunhill, may it reward you with many memories and fine smokes.

EBay is a trip. I saw someone selling a waiters corkscrew listed as pipe tamper with cleaning tool and bottle opener.. and I especially love those inflatable lighters from China...

It arrived pretty much as shown, it did just wipe it down with a cloth before taking photos. Even the inner tube was in the (Peterson) box when I opened it.

Cumberland, MD ... a beautiful town, to drive through... unless you need a church or a liquor store. ☺

Someone at Dunhill probably knew what it meant as some time or another. It's been suggested that it's some kind of stocking number, or an indication of a slight variation of the bowl shape, but none of the posters putting forth their theory knew for certain.
