Just wondering how many blends do you guys have on average? The amount(grams/ounces) doesn't matter. In the last couple of months I've gone from 3 to about 25. So fun trying them all out

I currently have about 45 mason jars containing a variety of different blends that I smoke from regularly. I have about another 60 tins in my cellar. Its taken several years to get to that point though.

I would say around 100 or so. Not updated my cellar for a bit, but need to.

I couldn't tell you exactly since I haven't started using one of those excellent online pipe tools yet (and really should) but I have around 25-30 different blends at the moment, 20 of which are open in Mason Jars and a couple in their original tins. Out of those 20, at least 13 are in regular rotation.

Not sure exactly, but not too many. Perhaps 15 or so. I stopped off at LJ Perettis for the first time this weekend and add some Tashkent and Germain's Plumcake. Both of which were quite a surprise.

122 Last year I managed to work down the total weight of my celler but I still have a ways to go. I'm working on getting down to 3 to 5 main blends for the coming tax onslaught.

Around 40 is my best guess. I don't have a very good accounting system either, other than date stickers all over everything.

I have around 35, but they are mostly leftovers that I don't hate enough to through away, but don't like enough to smoke regularly.

I seem to be very different form the norm here. I do not want a lot. I'm trying to get down to three to five favorites, and just rotate them. I don't want a LOT of different blends.

My PipeTool APP tells me that I have 215 pounds representing 122 blends. But, I imagine that this is because I have bought many tins that I intend to try at some point, but haven't gotten around to it. The stuff that I am seriously cellaring, I buy in five to twenty pound intervals.

    23. 15 C&D blends and 5 G.L. Pease blends. The other 3 are foreign blends that I don't particularly care for, but I will smoke them just to get out from under them. It may take a while, though.

Thepipetool.com says I have 95 entries open and 290 entries cellared. Many of those are repeats stored in different formats but I'd guess I have 200+ different blends. I know, I have issues.

About 25. Some are remnants of so-so blends, that I will smoke only if I run out of the good stuff. One day will get around to donating or trading those. I'd like to get down to a dozen or so that are all right down my alley.

My wife thinks I have way too many. I on the other hand think I have nowhere near enough .

I have not counted the different blends in quite a few years, but I definitely know that it is in the hundreds.

I think I'm around 40-50 but have been doing less exploratory purchasing and sticking with favorites. I expect the number to drop this year as I smoke through or gift some of the lesser enjoyed mixtures. There's a sweet spot between having a well stocked assortment to choose from and being overwhelmed by decision.

So sth sez: " There's a sweet spot between having a well stocked assortment to choose from and being overwhelmed by decision." So what's wrong with overwhelming by decision?

I have to catalog the last dozen or so I got from Pipestud, the KW Holiday Party and Morley's, and the 'puter lists 1,346. I have been working hard to get the working rotation in the Top200 Cellar back down to 200.

My cellar is currently 104 blends wide, but 90% of that is only 1 tin or a couple ounces deep. I have every intention of narrowing that down to a much shorter list, but I seem to keep finding blends that I can't possibly live without. And you can bet I'll be buying some War Horse plug as soon as it's available.

10 to 12 open and being smoked. Love the variety. I can see having 10 favorites as standard....once I have found 10 favorites, that is.

I, of course, forgot about Rule 9 long ago.

There's a reason for it: Google prioritizes web pages on a site when those pages are titled in headline case.

So, when you follow Rule 9... you're helping this site beat out all the other pipe tobacco links on the internet. It also helps to use the tags.

Think about it: we want to beat down Reddit, PSF, wikipedia and all those other weak fakers.

So there's a wisdom to the rule...

I'm not sure of the total but I've purchased over 40 different blends just from SmokingPipes in the last 18 months. Probably purchased as least the same between Pipes&Cigars, 4Noggins and a few other retailers.

More than I will ever get smoked.
I have lost track honestly. I just bought some new scales and am going to inventory my 7 totes of mylar bulk and tins. All the mylar bags were from bulk orders and were filled without weighing. I just eyeballed a week or so's quantity.

I am up to 14. Started a quest a while back to find the ONE blend that would be "my mixture." Problem is I keep liking all the ones I have tried. So the quest continues...

To many, but I rationalize it by making it a rule to have only five open at one time. (See, I'm being restrained.) That said, I'm already building my "to-buy" list, which includes the John Cottons and the new Bengal Slices.

I think I have about 20 but I am compiling a wish list with at least that many more.

"Enough to start your own tobacco shop!", as my fiancé would say lol.

Seriously, I probably have around 20-30 blends in my cabinet.

I have in mason jars 1/3 oz of Amaretto, 1 oz +/- of 50/50 Captain black+ Creme Brulee, and 50/50 1Q and the shops own blend. I only a little of each and got some advice that they would mix well together.

I have about another 60 tins in my cellar. Its taken several years to get to that point though.

Depends, if on the dollar is almost at par and you're not in the US then you kind of go batshit crazy ordering.

I just placed an order with 8 more new blends so I think I am at about 30. I should go count them.

    Warhorse is now!

Are some posts missing or deleted? I wrote the above just a post or two down from someone who mentioned waiting for Warhorse. Now I can't see his post at all, and it serves me right for not quoting!

I have about 40 or so, but I just moved countries and only took 6 with me, it was actually quite fun being forced to whittle it down.

More importantly, I have stockpiled "reasonable" amounts of the blends I like!
