I grew up on A small tobacco farm in Kentucky in an era when almost everyone used tobacco in

some form. Almost everyone started smoking at an early age. I guess that I was about 12 years

old when I got serious about it. I did however clinch a pipe when I was cutting my first teeth

back in 1937. How about you?

1968. Took a break for a few years and focused on cigars, but I came back. Rarely smoke cigars any more.

1969 but not long as I switched to Drum roll your own cigs as back then we always had cig papers with us anyhow.

1985 quit smoking anything and everything for 20yrs.

2005 picked up the pipe again and still smoking.

I got my first pipe around 1992. So that makes 20 years. Got my first wife around that time too. I still got the wife but lost that pipe. Sheesh time flies!

bought my first briar and bag of black cherry tobacco from a local B&M in 2002ish. Then i got into my fitness kick for a while and stopped smoking. 2 years ago i picked up a cob and some captain black and have been on ever since!

It was in mid to late 2006 (can't recall exact month)...converted from cigars and never looked back. Had to stop and think about it...I almost gave a wrong answer because for some reason it seems like it's been longer than it actually has (I think this is because it's hard for me to imagine not smoking a pipe now).

Early in 1965. Started out with a Medico bulldog (Rhodesian, really) and Middleton's Cherry blend.

My second pipe (a short rotation) was a Kaywoodie ¾-bent Prime Grain Hi-Bole that cost $9.99. Recently sold it on eBay for $79.00 :puffy:

I became obsessed with pipes about 1 1/2 years ago. So not until i was in my fortys. But used another form of tobacco before that.

1997. Hardly smoked for a couple years there in 05 and 06 but have been back at it steady since.
