How Do Gawith Ropes Change With Age?

I assume there is some degree of mellowing but how much and how do different lengths of time affect these ropes?

Yes. Thank goodness!
Fresh ropes taste awful to me, especially the black one, but after about a month or so,they lose a certain acridness and settle down.
