I have trouble keeping things short. I'm a new pipe smoker. Hi. I just deleted a HUGE paragraph that rambled on and on, with many (seeming) non sequiturs and many topics. In a nutshell, I joined just now to post THIS- The Holy Grail, after a frustrating search for more info on Orientals!
More to follow (A promise AND a threat :) )

My wife is from "remote" rural Missouri, up near the Iowa line and the Mississippi, but her grandmother, who was the matriarch of the farm family, took great pride in having migrated to Kansas as in infant in a covered wagon and having lived in a sod house and eventually a fine brick house, before marrying and moving to the farm in Missouri. She lived to be 99, quilting and cooking until nearly the end. My wife was her understudy in the kitchen cooking for the family and farm helpers. Welcome aboard. My wife still makes her grandma's fried potatoes, among many other dishes ... pan cornbread, fried chicken, and home baked bread.
