the Sav or the Pete 80s will be a close call I would go with the Pete cause I favor the shape. But, you can't go wrong with any of them.

I like the Porto Cervo the most. Second would be the Sav Xmas pipe followed by the 80s Peterson then the 150. I am really amazed with the quality of the Savinelli that I recently purchased so I would definitely recommend going with one of those. I have read many talking about Peterson's decline in quality and I really don't like how they dip their bowls in stain causing it to get on the inside. I want a Pete but I'll likely wait to find an older unsmoked pre-dipping estate.

I'm probably going to catch hell for this, but I'm not impressed with any of them. To me the seem fairly run of the mill; the stem work on the Savinelli Christmas pipe looks kind of awkward and the band is fit rather haphazardly... it looks like a decent blast, though.
But they're stamped "Christmas" at the factory and voila! They're now "collectible".
Sorry... rant over.

I would pass on anything from Smokers' Haven maybe the do better online but in person they can't be botherd to hang up the telephone and sell a pipe. The atmosphere of the store is depressing. you can't get a hello, goodbye or may I help you no matter how long you stand and watch the guy talk on the phone.

Bigvan might buy a toothpick at that price lol. But in all seriousness I am inclined to agree with him. I don't quite understand the appeal of a pipe stamped Christmas Pipe and would worry you would get shoddy briar because of it. You could order a Santa shaped pipe from Storient or something but that would be a little out of your price range. I have been digging Winslow's semi-rustified pipes. You might want to check them out on smokingpipes.com.

straight bulldog, for sure. That's a nice hefty pipe and it'll be good company after the large holiday dinner and a nice scotch. Best of luck and enjoy

I'll throw a vote for the Sav Xmas pipe. Prefer blasted to rustic, and sub-200 bucks, Savinelli makes better pipes than Peterson imho. I've really fallen off the Pete wagon in the last few years. Can't believe some of the crap that leaves that factory now. I'm sure the best Petes are fine, but the worst ones aren't.
