Not sure how many fellow Canadians are on here but just wanted to say hello! I started smoking a pipe a few months back and now I'm hooked. Can't wait for the warm weather to be back so I can load up a bowl and relax, fireside by the lake. Any of my fellow Ontario residents know of any tobacconists or pipe shops near Me? I'm in Cobourg, about an hour east of Toronto.

Welcome love2smoke. There are quite a few Canadians here and should be able to give you info on tobacconists around you.

Welcome sir, hook up through PM with brdavidson and Pruss they operate a pipe club in Oshawa. They are great guys and will be a huge help in your journey. There is also a pipe shop in Oshawa but the name escapes me. I'm in Northern Ontario now but heading back to Southern Ontario in the spring.

I am on the other side of the GTA. As piper12 said, you should contact pruss or brdavidson and hook up with their Oshawa pipe club.

Hey there Love2smoke Victory cigars is a great shop in Oshawa that has a good selection of pipes and tobaccos, but more importantly they are fantastic people to deal with. We actually have our monthly pipe club meeting tonight at 6pm at Victory if you're interested. I'll send you a PM as well to give you some details.

Welcome. I am a former Ontario resident. Can't speak about local shops, however a lot of us order on line from the US because it is much cheaper, although I am still a supporter of the local shop. You will usually find different blend, and sound knowledge.

Well I'm pretty sure they aren't paying attention to us, but you may be right. We should probably start to converse about such things in Canadianese, our native language.

I almost peed my pants when I read "Mansbridging"...
    That was hilarious.

Welcome to the forums, and if you have any "Canadian questions", you'll find a bunch of Canadians here to answer.

In terms of Canadian tobacco stores, you're very limited: Victory, Walper, Smokin' Cigar, Thomas Hinds. As much as we love Canada, we also love saving money, so we more often than not buy most of our tobacco from online retailers.

I learned everything I know aboot Canada from watching Strange Brew. No Shit!.... In the American public school system, Canada is pretty much taught to us to be Americas hat! We were taught all about Europe and South America and Australia and Africa and Asia but when it comes to Canada, just a few paragraphs. They speak two languages English and French, Hockey, Maple Syrup, they didn't kill all of their Indians, they drink copious amounts of beer, Hockey and.....Rush!

I value all of the members from Canada on this forum and have learned a great deal aboot the GWN from you fellows. In the above paragraph I was not trying to make fun or poke you I was only pointing out the total inadequacy of our knowledge of our closest ally. God Bless America and Canada.

Thank goodness for this past ice storm eh! We've been waiting years to add an addition to our igloo.

I remember watching something a few years ago it was an interview of many Americans and they were asked questions about Canada and it was funny and sad at the same time. Funny being the children knew more then the parents did. Anyway one guy thought we all lived in igloos lol.

Ok funny story and not meant to offend our southern breatheren. I was having lunch in a pull off outside Cornwall Ontario which is a border town. I was approached by a man and his wife that said they were from West Virginia. This was July long weekend and I noticed a Bolle ski box on top of there Navigator. We talked for a few minutes and the man finally asked how far he would need to go for a ski hill. I asked him "one with snow?" He sheepishly nodded his head. His travel agent in West VA told them Canada had snow all year round. We shared a laugh and they decided to head to Kingston

the travel agent was correct but they were yet too far south - we have snow all year round at the north pole.

IF you are in toronto there is a good shop on mc caul street north of dundas called " cheers " not open weekends.

to order on line or by phone saving canadian funny money ( $9us/tin 50g + shipping ( + duty if dinged ) versus $35 cdn / tin 50g retail )
order shipment of about 200g max it sometimes comes thru no duty unless the duty guy is an antismoker.
usa retailers (also on line) - 4 noggins, cupojoes or smoking pipes - all three you can call via phone for info -

i'll bet you a few americans went into shell shock at that 35 - EH CANADIANS

Yeah, but the lack of elevation sucks for downhill... Now if they were into Nordic skiing.

Jesus Murphy I must have been having a double-double (okay doubtful), or was just totally deked out by other threads, to have missed this one as it heated up.

I'm just gonna have me a Nanaimo bar, and a slice of sugar pie while I work out my old Molson muscle and finish my two-four while waiting for new posts...

Welcome. I'm in Scarborough. I also shop online. 4noggins shipped to my house, or pipesandcigars.com (as disappointed as I still am with their recent issues) shipped to family in Vermont. Then my wife and mother-in-law become my mules to bring 200g each (along with my allowance) when we go visit.
