About a year ago I proposed a challenge for everyone to list there top 5 flake tobaccos. I understand this was difficult to do because of the variety however we did achieve a list. After gathering all the votes I compiled the list.
Here is what it looked like last year. http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/top-5-flakes-the-votes-are-in
This year I am doing the same thing. List your top 5 recommendations as such
1.

2.

3.

4.

5.
I will leave it up for 1 week then gather the the information and present it like before.

I don't really have a Top 5 but here are a few I really like.
1. Fribourg & Treyer Cut Virginia Plug

2. Brigham Klondike

3. Gawith Hoggarth & Co Ennerdale Flake

4. Solani Silver Flake

5. Davidoff Flakes Medallions

1. Astleys 109

2. PS LTF

3. Klondike Gold

4. Orlik Golden Slices

5. ODF
But, I could go on... I like a diversity, because I don't like to smoke the same flake twice in a day. When I do, my taste buds become overloaded and I can no longer taste them. So, I keep many more flakes on hand to rotate throughout the day to keep my palate fresh and actively tasting.

My number 1 has never really changed. Though it's technically a broken flake, I still count it as a flake. As for the others, basically just the ones I'm enjoying the most right now.
1. McClelland #24

2. Sam Gawith FVF

3. Wessex BCDF

4. Gawith & Hoggarth Dark Flake Unscented

5. Gawith & Hoggarth Kendall Flake

I am seeing some new ones since last time we did this. Keep sending them in. I would love to have a much bigger turnout than last time.
