The day is almost over, but March 25th is J.R.R. Tolkien reading day. Coincidentally, I finished a book, and started to read "The Fellowship Of The Ring" before I realized this. Anyone else coincidentally read some Tolkien today, or realize this was actually a "thing"?

I agree with Craig, the Silmarillion is a must-read. My favorite book by JRRT.
I recently re-read the Hobbit and LoTR in the past few months (as I do every few years) and was biding my time before re-reading the Silmarillion. There are also some Unfinished Tales and a 12-volume History of Middle Earth series, and a Children of Hurin for the extremely devoted.
Biding my time with some short stories by Hemingway, Steinbeck and M. Somerset Maugham. Great pipe-reading.

Damn, I didn't even know this was a thing! I love Tolkien, and I'll agree with you guys that the Silmarillion is a must-read.
+1 Jim

The Children of Hurin is a fantastic read, very much like Beowulf or the Saga of the Volsungs. It's essentially a Scandinavian saga and I highly suggest reading it for anyone who can't get enough Tolkien.
