Pipes are not like cars. A Chevy cannot drive like a Mercedes, but the lowly Stanwell can smoke like the lofty Chonowitsch, even though the latter far exceeds the Stanwell in beauty, grain, and craftsmanship. It is the briar and not the brand. There is no place for elitism among pipe smokers. - Fred Hanna

After aged 50, a Happy Birthday might mean that you've crossed the Medicare threshold?...
I always call my mom on my birthday, and the birthdays of all my siblings...I had 6, and five are still with us here on the coil....and tell HER Happy Birthday.
I hope your mom is still here too. Happy Birthday Al!

Congrats on the anniversary of that whole "being born" thing you did so long ago!! Another big fan of the author/diplomat!!! Glad to hear it! It's obviously the greatest shape out there and could wipe the floor with the rest of those lessor pipes

I don't know who remembers these things! But, thank you all.

I opened the day with some MM965 in the new Dunhill and closed it out with an Ashton Pebble Grain, Rhodesian of course.

It seems that I've collected quite a few souvenirs of my own after 54 years, I'm very blessed to have such good friends.

    Happy belated Birthday sir!
