Anything that I buy bulk has to be jarred of course for long term storage but any smaller tins stay in the original packaging. Recently I had some 30 year old Rattray's that started to show some rust on the bottom so I popped it and placed it into Ball/Mason jars. There's nothing nicer than to find some very old vintage tins in original condition. Like Cutter top tins from the 1950's and 60's and open them to share on special occasions.
Any of the products that are in a rolled tin container other than a single pressed tin should be jarred if you're looking at long term storage. There are many factors I shouldn’t get into, but the biggest one should be the unknown.
