I use quart jars for storage/ageing and transfer my tobacco to pint jars to keep handy for what I'm smoking.

I also use different size mason jars. I will open several different tins and transfer them to the jars. This way I will not have to worry about them. Perfect to have a variety of different tobaccos open at one time. :D

Grrrr.... as usual "my" walmart didn't have any. Oh, there was a spot marked for them but they didn't have any. Good thing there are a few other places I can think to look, but that's an adventure for tomorrow.

Great looking pipe. Will have to get to Wally World to get some of those smaller jars.

Is it recommended to move tobacco from the original tin to jars, or are the tins OK for short term storage?

I used this size for my tobacco. I guess I am spoiled by a wife who makes jelly and preserves occasionally. I even made some habanero cranberry jelly a year ago, with only minor supervision.

Thanks for the tip Buckeye. Took three trips to three different WalMarts but it finally paid off. Transfered most of my open tins over to the jars. Still need a few more jars and plan to keep several on hand for new tobacco to be stored later.

ACE Hardware stores in my area are always well stocked with mason jars. Half pint all the way to quarts.
