Actually, its No3, but since No1 is currently under "maintenance" (remaking it atm), i decided to name it 2.

Those plants (gourds) never cease to impress me. As a pipe material, not too much to work with them, but the idea of making pipe from something as it was given to me from mother nature (in this particular case completely, since the shape of gourd wasn't tampered with in any way) is very appealing to me. Many will say it could be done better, and i completely agree with them, but i'm still learning.

Anyway, without further ado, pics. :) Please, fell free to comment honestly in every way, every comment or advice will be most generously accepted. Critique also :)

Wow! You've done a great job and have a real talent for seeing what might be possible in something. Well done.

That's really pretty. Is the "bowl" made out of briar? Did you end up with an air chamber underneath? Are you ever looking to sell one of these?

First of all, thanks for kind words, folks. :) Bowl (on the outside) was made from gourd and it does have a cooling chamber underneath, so you might call this pipe a calabash. Inner bowl, tobacco chamber or whatever you want to call it, is made from high grade class IV plaster (i don't have access to meerschaum, sadly...). Complete process of making is described in one of my previous threads. (link to it http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/second-pipe-i-made-a-gourd-calabash )

Last, but not the least, i was thinking of selling them one day, but, to be honest, i have no idea how much money should i ask for it... These are still experimental, at the moment i'm experimenting with one chubby with plaster removable bowl (cork gasket etc). When its done, i'll post images :) I still need to test them a lot more, to be sure how they perform long term.

Quick edit: The one with removable bowl in that thread is not the one i'm making now. This one will be prettier and smaller. :)
