ay carumba!
i really dont believe any pipe is worth that much (but like anything else, I suppose it is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it)...personally I think you can get better pipes than this for less than 1/10th of that bid....Dunhills are great pipes but they are not that much better than any other top class pipes out there

I'm sure it's a very nice pipe, but, let's face it, they're selling a name, not a superior smoking experience.

That is lovely, in my favorite shape, but out of my league. My dream Dunhill would be a bent billiard in my birthyear ('61), but the ones I've come across are still a bit dear for my blood.

Yikes!!!! I would be willing to bet that after one smoke the value depreciates by no less than 50% so maybe it will be nothing more than a collectors item for a really affluent a dunhill collector. Cooper is smiling all the way to the bank with the commission on that one, GO Rob!!!! :worship:

I have that same pipe, I probably paid $4-500 for it about 10 years ago. The only reason that one went for $3100 is because it was number 2 of 350 and at one time belonged to Richard Dunhill, Alfred's grandson.
If you really like that pipe keep an eye out on eBay, eventually one will come up for a reasonable price.
