Today the family is going to a Renesance Fair. I hope to find a hand made CW or Clay while I am there. And yes I dress the part when I go.

If you can't pack it, light it, and smoke it then why do it. It's a dieing art that must be rekindled in all of us as fortold by our forefathers.

Words to live by for all pipe smokers.

I live in Florida. Gainsville is a big one at Hogshead. It lasts like 3 weeks. This is the last weekend of the event. I have reconsisered dressing up this year due to the fact that it will be 80 degrees and my garb is mostly wool. Reinactors go for realistic unfortunatly, so I guess today I am a spectator.

I'd be VERY surprised if there was a half-way decent pipe to be found at at Ren Fair. I hope you DO, but a "costume" pipe is far from the real thing.

    Good luck.

Yeah maybe I should have planed the trip rather than the wife. She didn't figure out the travel part of the trip. I am going to enjoy watching her. Already had a 15 min discussion the different ways to get there.

Ren fair pipes a bust. There were some hand made pipes.
Pros and cons but not worth the amount they were asking. Draft holes were not strait. They use furniture stain and glazing. Rosewood and white oak. All one piece church wardens longer than a pipe cleaner. And very poor quality. Looks like I still get to wait on UA or I get one on MacQueens.

As long as I got a pipe full of baccy and a nose full of snuff, I'm a happy camper

You know I think it sad that there were not any old world pipes there or tobacco venders. Makes me wonder if maybe I should do something about it and maybe set up my own booth there next year?

As far as i know the only tobacco thing at the detroit renaissance festival was a hookah tent. There may have been other stuff, but I dont know because I didnt go. My friend did

Yeah, you are right. I used to go each summer when I was up in Michigan. You could get "flavored" cigars but no pipes. If I had the time or the ability that might be a fun enterprise to undertake.
