Normally, most, if not all blends I smoke can be relit after laying the pipe down for a while with success. Sometimes, it even seems better than the top 1/3 of the bowl. Many pipers enjoy DGTing a bowl intentionally.
With Kendal Kentucky, if the pipe goes out, or if something comes up and I lay the pipe down, I may as well dump the pipe, because what's left isn't fit to smoke. Very harsh.
Anyone else find this with this, or any blend. Anyone have any other thoughts?

KK is my go-to, and I've smoked 3-4 pounds a year for a decade.
The trick is to blow back through the stem before setting the pipe down for any length of time. Gently but firmly, long and steady (slowly release a full breath). No smoke is left behind to go stale and rank-ify things. Makes all the difference in the world.
(This trick also works for cigars)

I do that with long cigars George, but to do it with a pipe never came to mind. Thank you kindly!!!!!
Off to dump that bowl and reload. 8)
