We just don't get along. I fell into a perfect rhythm:
1) puff until my pyloric valve constricts to the point that I can't breathe

2) sit back with my eyes closed holding my chest until the pain stops

3) notice that the pipe has died

4) relight the pipe

5) repeat
It actually tastes like a maduro wrapped cigar, which I typically like, but just hurts! Anyone else experience this?

That's a crying shame cause it's a damn fine blend... one of my favorites.
I'm sorry to hear that. I've been pretty lucky so far as I've not had a bad reaction to any blend I've tried so far (knock on wood).

I have had it before and it was OK. Certainly didn't cause a reaction then. Maybe it was the day of yardwork, or maybe it was the different pipe, it was quite a battle.

I love the stuff, typically folding, twisting, & stuffing a MM General, but found that a smaller amount in MM Cobbit Dwarf is quite satisfying as well.
@randelli:

How do you prep, & with what pipe, & in what bowl size do you smoke this flake?

I have rubbed it out in the past and used a straight bulldog. Today I folded and stuffed it into a peterson 317. It has a .66 x 1.20 chamber.

I find it too strong for my tastes, I enjoy brown bogie alot, but GH dark flake is much stronger imo.
