I won this Pipestud auction yesterday for a pre-Cadogan Virgin 549. I had this shape previously in a lesser grade. I've had a Virgin grade pipe with a vulcanite stem on my Grail list but didn't expect to find one unsmoked. I'm been fortunate in the past few months to find three unsmoked, older British Briar (Ashton Old Church & James Upshall Bark).

I check Smokers Haven occasionally, but their prices run pretty high (they have a lower grade, unsmoked Bulldog for nearly $100 than I paid for this pipe). I did buy a B Grade Upshall them last year and met them at their table at the NYC show.

That is one fantastic pipe. I'm currently on the lookout for a Bulldog myself. That puppy wouldn't be a virgin for long if I got my paws on it!
