With the canted bowl, wouldn't this pipe be considered to be a Dublin rather than a Canadian?
Ive no idea,I called it a canadian due to the long oval shank/short mouthpiece.The photo makes the cant look more than it actually is.
@ssjones

thats the strange thing Al ,there is no COM stamp at all.niether the made in london straight one or the football comoy,s one

Only if the bowl is conical from the front view. The one pictured with the oval shank and tapered stem is definitely a Canadian.

Roger, brother embers. Canted billiards are a little uncommon but not unheard of. For Dublin or Zulu, the bowl by definition has to be a cone.

The zulu and woodstock too have a cylindrical bore and bowl. The true yacht and yachtsman have the dublinesque conical bore and bowl.
1974 Group 3 Dunhill Shell Briar zulu and pre '70s Savinelli Capri 9004 yacht/yachtsman.

Thanks much for the correction. Seriously.

Zulu's one of the shapes I don't know from back in the day, & I've never seen one except in profile. Update to my knowledge appreciated!

A zulu is very much a 1/4 bent billiard with a forward cant. Other than the yachts, they are a favorite of mine out of traditional shapes.

Funny thing is, to me the idea of the Zulu just works better conically. I'm certain it.just comes from "ass umption," since in absence of correct actual info, it just *seems* to work better. I'll fix that misconception immediately. But I ain't gonna do it by studying Cutty vs. "Devil Anse." }:)
