Yes, the rondells are brass. They oxidize liken the vulcanite. That one will be shiny in a few week! Sometimes they get so crusted over, folks think the rRandall is missing

I was a busy boy this morning and also completed the work on the 9438 Century. The stem came out really nice, I'm looking forward to smoking this one.

Nice one! Great clean up of a classy pipe with really nice grain. Hope you enjoy smoking it!

I've always liked GBD pipes a lot, and have a couple myself. My favorite is a GBD fantasy, a variation on a prince shape. Enjoyed reading about your process on the reborn pipe site too. Thanks for the post!

I have aways loved the bevelled tops on most of the GBDs I see. My shape 1970 has this and it's just such a nice touch.

I'm at a hotel in Northern Virginia this evening. I brought the 9438 and some Presbyterian Mixture and enjoyed both illegally out on the hotel patio, what a great smoking pipe.

Beautiful pipe Al, and your restoration work will be rewarded by many great smokes. BTW, GBD also made silver and silver colored rondelles during the good old days.
