That is Tim West. I spotted this yesterday and my first thought was WTF? But Tim's description, as noted above, makes everything clear. At least he didn't try to pose Pearl smoking the pipe.
The photo certainly attracts attention, if you don't mind the nether end of a handsome orange cat
being associated with the mouth piece end of a tobacco pipe. Doesn't bother me. My three felines
drape themselves wherever they will, intensely companionable. They enjoy watching me smoke;
the smoke wisps and rings entertain them almost like a laser pointer.
