Frisson is "a sudden strong feeling of excitement or fear; a thrill." It's often called goosebumps and is more often triggered by emotion than temperature.
What songs/bands do it to you every time? Most consistently for me is Falling Up - when I heard Dawn Escapes I told Bootleg that it was like sex on a CD. (But they may be offended by that... who knows with an experimental electronic Christian band?) Anyways, put on your good headphones and listen to our pipester's skin crawling songs.

I have many songs/artists that cause that sensation.
Sade - King of Sorrow/Somebody Already Broke My Heart

Bjork - I Miss You

Fiona Apple - Criminal/Fast As You Can

Adele - Rolling in the Deep/Chasing Pavements

La Roux - Bulletproof

Deadmau5 - Sofi Needs a Ladder

Kanye West and Jay-Z - No Church in the Wild

Wilson Phillips - Hold On

A Perfect Circle - Three Libras

almost anything by Prince

many others....

Need videos, man! The only song I recognize from memory is Wilson Phillips. :-P
So, I'll post that one.

Would be too many to post, plus I barely have the intellegence to write posts...as evidenced by my post count.
Not really sure how to post youtube videos here.

When you find out how deep the lyrics that MJK writes then pretty much any Tool song.

Wings for Marie/10,000 Days - Basic background: Maynards mom died after being paralyzed for 30 years and remaining a devout christian throughout that time

Lateralus - you need to know about Phi and the Fibonacci sequence. But once you do and start listening to the lyrics and counting the words/syllables/beats and start seeing the patterns and how they match up with those mathematical equations...holy shite:

Then there is the song The Humbling River by Puscifer:

Sorry, the new album I talked about in the Metal thread has me in a Maynard mood. But Every time I listen to these 3 song I get exactly what you described with the goosebumps and whatnot. Very nerdgasmic music :D

Tool is one of those bands that makes your eyes move when you listen to it. It's so distinct in the right/left separation... I wonder what their thoughts on binaural beats are.

pretty much anything Concrete Blonde. Johnette Napolitano's voice induce a stuporous, trancelike state in me. She's like a little earful of Morphine.

@cyndi: I'm not sure. I know that on the DVD for...um...I think it was Parabola if you watch it with the audio commentary it actually plays 2 commentaries simultaneously. If I remember correctly one was very philosophic while the other was technical. So I'm sure they've at least given it some thought :)

Everytime I listen to Blind Guardian's album "Nightfall in Middle Earth" I get a chill at many points of the album. For example when the harmonies kick in "Blood Tears" it always happens. Amazing album and Tolkien inspired. How much better could it be?

@baronsamedi: Love Concrete Blonde!!! Saw Johnette Napolitano on her solo tour once and Concrete Blonde on their final tour before disbanding. One of the best female rock singers that most people have never heard of. She's a pretty mean bass player too. Frisson, indeed!

This track from the late Clann Zu also affects me in such a way. The spoken word section and the transition towards the end of the track always gets me. Such powerful music these fellows put out there.
