Fridge cellar

I recently got the opportunity to use the old broken fridge in our garage as my tobacco cellar. It hadn't been used or cleaned,though it doesn't look dirty.
Has anyone ever done this?
I don't smoke many tobaccos but I'd atleast

have room to buy more!

The first time I ever saw a fridge used as a cellar was the picture included on "The Professor's Pipe Tobacco Reviews"
Judging from the make/model of the fridge in that pic I'd say there's precedence for what you're considering.

Standard fridges are usually too cold for long term tobacco storage. Usually 65% humidity and 65 degrees F is the generally accepted principle, and the cigar guys do it with thermoelectric wine fridges.

As long as it isn't running it should work just fine. You don't want to keep it outside, it needs to be indoors with a constant temperature.

Yeah, but what about when the power goes out? /s. Coolers?

I've got mine in coolers already! Separate cooler for my Latakias.
