Noticed two pipes which are obviously frauds on eBay, an Ingo Garbe and Love Geiger. They were originally auctioned by great-estate pipes and Treasurepipes respectively. I contacted eBay, but they remain listed.

The pipes aren't even real. The Great Estate Pipes page itself is bogus. A cloned, look-alike fake.

If I weren't in possession of such a senior mind, I could remember where I've seen that same picture with the Ingo Garbe.
It looks awfully familiar.

The INGO pipe sold on September 16th for $404, Mr. Great Estate Pipe listing, that's how I noticed this, eBay highlighted the fraudulent pipes in my feed, because I bid on the actual pipes, similar pipes to auctions that I lost

Notifying ebay of anything like that is a complete waste of time. I have never heard of it accomplishing anything. Just notify friends who may be interested. Hopefully they are smart enough to already know.

Believe me, if the an imaginary wronged party complains, if they are a big seller for eBay and elsewhere, eBay will drop on you like a ton of bricks, as I discovered when I initially marketed my flip top lighters. I don't have to name who got very upset.

And, I guess that is what I am saying. If someone has an issue with a copyright, they can/should complain. If someone who has a problem with something listed on ebay, because it is 'their' design that is being stolen, they should complain. Otherwise, look and move on. If you wish, let the 'owner' know about the problem, but otherwise, where do 'rats and informants' end? Big brother is already too big. Minding one's own business is a good thing also. Who is hurt? Why is it my/your business?

Ebay should burn with the rest of the FANG/W companies. Anything you do to help end them is a great victory for the usability of the internet.

Nevada....the person hurt is the fool who thinks it's a legitimate posting, and hits the buy it now button. Its also not good for the "market" and the legitimate sellers when fraud is being committed on selling pipes that are imaginary. chase replied to me and said this has become a recurring problem this week. Poof went the pipe buyers money, to some Chinese punk, it's a fake troll listing. If some clown was on this forum trying to scam members out of money I hope someone would say something. no one gives a crap about the pictures being taken from coopers ark or Chase.

If one uses paypal, one can't lose money. The seller loses or ebay loses. If ebay loses enough (through paypal) (yes, I know about the 'ownership change' for paypal) they will listen to squeaky wheels. Until then, buyer beware, and use paypal.
I don't mean to say just ignore problems, but from experience, talking to ebay about anything like this is just a waste of time. Warning folks on the forum is different.

The same type of seller is spoofing Coopersark pipes, even adding Cooper in the pipe name listing. I've reported several and they have been pulled down. It's always a BIN for $23.XX.

Very true. Lack of trust leads to all sorts of behavior.
I do not trust paypal or ebay to guess who is the actual victim in any circumstance.
On the plus side, if enough ebay scamming occurs, we can go back to the original internet, which would be more like a bazaar, with lots of places to buy instead of one big centralized auction barn like ebay...

I have purchased estates in the past from eBay but avoid it if at all possible. There are so many allegations of fraud and misrepresentation it's just not worth the risk. I prefer to support people like Steve (pipestud - he's on eBay), Marty (Culver's Briar), and Mike (briarblues) with their online estate pipe sites. They have built credible reputations in the pipe community and stand by their products. #guaranteeyoursuccess

I don't buy on ebay, but most online swindles work by the vast numbers of shoppers they reach. Most of the gyps aren't even cleverly done, since there's no need to work too hard. Someone will see it, want it, and not know what they're doing. Like the Nigerian prince with his fortune to "share." If it reaches two million people, someone for some reason will bite.
