This is the site where they archive the Celtic Connections radio shows. I love traditional Celtic music and prefer this program over others such as Thistle & Shamrock as CC tends to feature more up-tempo pieces, a lot of jigs and reels among other tunes.

This is very good to know. I love Celtic music as well. Usually have one of my Irish station on Pandora playing at the office while I work. I have heard the T&S show before and quite liked it, but I do also enjoy all types of Celtic music. I'll have to give this one a go as well, now. Always hard to remember when the shows come one the radio and most of the time I end up not being in the car when they're on. Thanks for the info!

Carolina, while I'm a traditionalist, do love me some bagpipe rock and these guys do it up good http://www.prydein.com/ I catch them on Spotify.

Thanks for that. Cool show.
Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill is singing on one of the tracks on the latest episode, which reminds me how much I loved this Skara Brae album the first time I heard it. It was recorded in 1970 or 1971 by four Irish-speaking college kids in the space of just a few days. Simple, traditional tunes with gorgeous vocal harmonies. Check it out:

Irishearl, I am a traditionalist too, but I do branch out into the extreme from time to time with my Alestorm pirate metal, found them through my Pandora Irish radio channel, funny enough. Along with Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys, I enjoy pretty much any take on Irish music. Can't beat the Chieftains for traditional Irish music.

Loved hearing it in one of the home countries, Ireland. You can't smoke in most of the pubs, any of them officially, but you can still draw a Guinness. Don't rush the bar man, since it takes a while to pull a pint correctly.
