My 2 year old Samsung 55" LED looked like this a few days ago. The power supply failed and the HDMI ports. I think a lightening strike was the cause. A little googled work yielded Jimmyshop.com. They sold me all both boards, new Wifi module and cables for $68. It took me about 45 minutes to replace the boards and I'm back in business. I wonder how many flatscreens are binned for similar problems?

Here's the main issue, the power supply board failed. Four screws and two cable connects, easier than working on a laptop. The HMDMI ports failed a few weeks ago. I thought it was my TIVO unit but when I had a temporary set in place of this Samsung, the TIVO and TV HDMI ports worked fine. The picture is better with HDMI (versus component cables), so that is also a win.

It is unheard of that someone fixes something instead of throwing it away nowadays. Good for you for actually looking into it, and very reasonably priced too.
I am in the process of replacing burnt out bulbs on my fathers Marantz stereo which he bought new in 1976. It still sounds amazing, and when he brought up a while ago getting a new stereo, I said why? It still sounds incredible. If it isn't broken, don't replace it! OK, early morning rant done.

@KC - bring it! My son-in-law had the same issue last year (in Louisiana). Same repair (one board) cost him $299. He was skeptical when he saw the top picture, now a believer in his FIL, watch and learn boy!

Sea captain, exactly what I had. Perhaps it wasn't a lightning strike, or perhaps I need a better surge protector
Weird, hard to say what happened then. Maybe static electricity build up. Glad you got it fixed cheap.
