So I lit up a bowl in my new Savinilli I got from the caption contest. It was not good. It was hot and tasted like chemicals. The pipe was not hot, the smoke was. It has a bowl coating, and I had this happen with a different pipe I have that also had a bowl coating. Is there any way to remove this coating, or will I have to suffer though it?

Yep. I'd get some 400 grit, wrap it around a dowel that is a little narrower than the diameter of your bowl, and clean it out. If you have trouble getting the coating out of the bevel at the bottom of the bowl I'd use your finger to feel your way around the curve with sandpaper.
Good luck!
