So my order from P&C finally came in. On Dec. 28th I placed an order for a Wellington Smooth Billiard (M) pipe along with the Hearth and Home sampler pack, some pipe cleaners, and a tamper. The sampler included House of Lords, American Heritage, Old Companion, Grandma's Kitchen, Berry Nice, and Vermont Meat Candy. I paid extra for a 3 day shipping but it wasn't until today (Jan 7th) that I actually got my order. I may end up messaging PAC and see if there is a way we can fix this (or just let it go). It took over a week to get here but I might just toss it up to the holidays. When I got my order, it came to me like this:

The box was busted and the right top lip of the box was opened. It was delivered via UPS I believe so I guess it was a handling problem. Inside the box it was packaged pretty alright with some paper cushioning to protect the items.

Right away I could smell an extremely strong tobacco fragrance. After sniffing each of the sample bags, I figured out it was House of Lords. I have no idea what it is in that blend which gives it such a strong smell.

Berry Nice smelled really pleasant and so did Vermont Meat Candy. I look forward to trying those. Grandma's Kitchen has a rather spicy scent to it and American Heritage and Old Companion have a mild scent in the bag.

And lastly is the Wellington pipe. I didn't realize there wasn't any maker's markings on the pipe. It just says "Czech" on the side. It seemed a good size and I am eager to begin breaking it in tonight.

So what should I start with first tobacco wise? There is so many to choose from I don't know which!

    Edited: Forgot pipe pic!

thats quite a haul you got mr Z! I would say the strong smell you are getting is the Latakia in the House of Lords. Latakia is wonderful stuff to me but not everyone is in love with the smell. the Wellington is a fine looking pipe, you have to let us know how it smokes. all in all, i'd say you made a great purchase, enjoy!

Not a huge aro lover either, but it seems you have a number of blends that won't disappoint. Enjoy!

Nice order and welcome! I'm slowly moving away from the aros but it's good to start with and you've got some good ones. Hang in there and ask a lot of questions.

Haha yeah my dog probably smelt all the baccy and was all "WHAT IS IN THIS? WHAT DO I SMELL? IS IT FOR ME?" She is notorious for rummaging through shopping bags to see if anything is for her

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to go with the VTMC for my first real briar bowl!

I had a package over the holidays that took twice as long to get here and was damaged too...
    Good haul btw

So I went with the Vermont Meat Candy for my first 1/2 bowl (to break in the new pipe). It tasted AMAZING! And smelled like maple syrup drizzled bacon. Mmmm.

Congrats on your haul. I usually get my P&C packages rather quickly. Hope your next order comes a little sooner than the last.

Thanks! I'm totally okay with breaking in my pipe with VTMC. I don't even care if it ghosts the pipe. Adding bacon flavor to anything will make it taste so much better
