Congrats! Somehow saying I own a 1981 anything doesn't seem near as impressive. I'll wait another 20 or so.

I need to some day find a 1953 Dunhill that wants a new home. I haven't made up my mind on the style yet. No hurry though; hell I haven't even seen a photo of a '53 yet. 8)

Great blast on that pipe,

congrats on the birth year!
I've had trouble trying to find a 1970 with such a nice blast,

one day I'll get lucky!

Great looking pipe. I am, however, flabbergasted at the fact that you haven't, until now, secured a birthyear pipe. :)

There have been many from 1950 but being a child of post WW II, of which there were many, lots of competition or did not meet my requirements, i.e. condition, condition and did I mention condition? ;) I've seen a bunch of 1953's but cannot recall seeing one from 1952, the closest I had come up to now was 1948 and that's my Dead Root DRR C-EE group 3 but this Shell is not only my birth year it's my favorite size a group 2. I have a group 1 from 1917 which was the year my mother was born so I pretty much had a family member birth year pipe until now.
