So, George, is it the girl next door that's changed or is it the neighborhood?

Who could have guessed that the easiest path a few decades ago to becoming the World's Richest Man was simply cornering the lipstick and injectable silicone/implant market?

Oh yeah... the face implant and lip filler thing is only ONE school of beauty enhancement. Today's edgier girls prefer staples and tattoos:

Damn. I can't unsee some of the above.

But here's a nice "retro look". A modern madamoiselle. Might help to "clear the palate"

Some contemporary women celebrities look like they are "doing" men in drag. I don't know if it's gender bending or just style off the rails. Some fabulously talented women singers do this, and it takes them from working clubs to stardom. It must rev someone's engine, but the silicon lips and breasts just look ... expensive.

    A modern madamoiselle.

    Very "modern" indeed.

She announced recently that her seven-year-old daughter is actually a boy who informed her (at age 3) that he was a girl, and she's been dressing him and treating him like a girl ever since.

The 21st century is a strange place indeed.

The neighborhood, apparently (see my previous post).

And finally, out of fairness, a few more of the "then" girls.

(Gorgeous, right? Just imagine how much better they'd look with a bloated fish mouth, ping pong balls buried in their cheeks, and caterpillars tattooed on their forehead!)

While many of us are indeed somewhat old, and we're definitely guys, I think it's more along the lines of not wanting to kiss a girl who goes to great lengths and expense to transform her mouth into a prolapsed baboon rectum:

They're all late 20s/early-mid 30's (except the soccer girl, never heard of her)... They grew up BEFORE the Social Media Age began its feedback loop of "influencers" endlessly trying to one-up each other.

ALL millennials are late 20s/early-mid 30s, I'm just telling you what I grew up with.

Had to Google why Alex Morgan was an idiot. Evidently she hurt somebody's widdle feewings the other day. Oh well. If I had a fraction of her talent I wouldn't be talking about her on the internet right now!

Isn't it weird that the people most admired in today's world are 1) grown-ups who play children's games unusually well (usually involving a ball); 2) professional deceivers---a.k.a. "actors"---whose job it is to fool people as convincingly as possible while reciting words written by others; and 3) people who have a nice voice and do musical things with it.

I couldn't agree with you more, George! That's why I don't use social media or follow sports, and 90 percent of the content I consume is books and podcasts. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Dave Ramsey--because there's nothing sexier than smart money

Tastes change, apparently LOL. The current fashion of girls with turd cutters twice the width of what was considered hot 20 years ago is completely lost on me...too much junk in the trunks these days.

The fact that those women might actually believe they look attractive like that, just goes to show you how insane some of these people are.

I'm not sure the women posted are being called beauty icons by anybody. Certainly styles change over time, but I would hardly say they are being put on a pedestal as icons.

People can dress or look how they want IMO.

Liz Taylor stopped being attractive back in the 1970s.

Liv Taylor has big lips but is still attractive.

In her day Liz was as good as it gets. Too many of the gals celebrated as lovelies today are rather flat chested. Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson are obvious exceptions.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought women are most attractive and sexy when looking attractive and sexy isn't the focus of what they're doing. It piques longing indirectly and most effectively.

Hap, that's not Jane Fonda, that's an actual baboon's ass. Jane Fonda was a few pictures above that one. Perfectly natural mistake, though.
