What is your favorite? Briar, Meerschaum, Porcelain, Clay, Gourd, Corn Cob, Non Briar wood, Brylon(or some other syntheic material)? I really like My Gourd Calabash, I'd put my meers second.

So far for me its Briar and Cob, but thats all I own. I have an ash wood MacQueen that I am not liking very much.

1. Briar or Morta, depending on individual sample.

2. Meerschaum (Turkish or African)

3. Meerschaum (Mizzou)

4. Other (Pear etc.)
If I had to pick only one twould be briar.

Morta
What is that?

Bog oak, pretty cool material. http://davorinmortapipes.wordpress.com/black-morta/

Never owned one unfortunately, but I've been eyeing some Rattray's morta pipes on Al Pascia. http://www.alpascia.com/group.asp?detail=20435

I agree with you Uber, My favorite smoke is my calabash, so for smoking prowess I would only smoke that. But for all the other qualities, durability, portability, style ect I would put Briar for my first. Then maybe MM then meer. Calabash is at the top but moves depending on my day

I really can't say I have a favorite pipe material.... but I do have my favorites that depend

on what I'm doing. Arm Chair, feet up has to be a large meerschaum or calabash. Wood working

or playin' with the vehicles has to be a scrubby old beat-up briar I've been smoking for almost

40 years, a no name heavy half bent. Hunting is definitely a cob! In the boat is usually an unfinished

Savilenni with a wind cap. Back in the bedroom.... that's a secret : ) and yes, she lites it for me....
